Major in French Language, Literatures and Cultures

The Major, taught in French, is designed for students with intermediate or higher fluency in French language who are interested in developing their appreciation for Francophone literatures and cultures around the world.


Admission Requirements

Before registering for any course from the upper-level requirements, students must have completed FREN_V 302 or demonstrated a proficiency level of B1 on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.


Degree Requirements

These requirements are applicable to students who declare the program after the 2025 Winter Session. Students who declared a specialization before then can refer to the former program requirements.
