In her role as French Language Program Director, Caroline’s contribution to the Department of French, Hispanic and Italian Studies (FHIS) is to lead the French language Program, to develop and offer the French Go Global Seminar, to create a new course for non-beginners and to redesign the processus of advising and placement for students in FHIS wishing to take a French course. She is also in charge of the FHIS TA training  and Mentoring Committee and a member of the Green College Leading Scholars program (2023-2025).

In her role, Caroline is dedicated to enhancing the teaching and learning experience of the undergraduate students by focusing on inclusive teaching practices and innovations. She is one of the recipients of the Student as Partners funding available at UBC (2022-2023).

She is the author of Combinatoires ludiques : littérature, contrainte et mathématique (2021) and a co-author of La francophonie en action – B1 (2024).

Current projects

Caroline is currently developing a textbook series (La francophonie en action A1-A2-B1-B2) that adapts the Common European Reference of Languages to the diversity of the francophone communities of Canada, including the indigenous francophone communities (Canadian Scholars’ Press 2024-2027). She is also working on EDID experiential projects to enhance UBC inclusive teaching practices and to impact the local francophone communities. She is also currently interested in applying a critical lens to using  ChatGPT in the classroom.
