Linguistic, social and cultural phenomena often spread in unpredictable ways and unexpected directions. The current pandemic prompts us to reflect on notions of contact, transmission and virality, and the way they weave emerging and transversal networks, for better or for worse.
This year, we are requesting papers on the following lines of thought (which are not exclusive):
- Frontier areas and contact areas
- Historical transmissions, legacies and influences
- Hybridization and blurring of categories
- Plurilingualism
- Dissemination of ideas
- New technologies and social networks
- The notion of emergence
- Ideologies and contact
- Intercultural contacts and interactions
- The transmission of knowledge
- Production and translation of texts
- Oral interaction and oral texts
