About

From Cameroon as nationality, my academic career has so far been crowned with two master’s degrees. The first was obtained in 2018 in the Department of African Literature and Civilizations, specializing in African Literature and Oral Traditions, at the Faculty of Arts, Letters, and Social Sciences, University of Yaoundé I. The second was obtained in 2023, in the Department of Culture, specializing in Cultural Enterprise Management at Senghor University in Alexandria, Egypt.

During these various training courses, both in Cameroon and abroad, keen to build up personal experience in the field of knowledge transfer, I also taught French literature and language in high schools and colleges. Aware that culture is one of the most important pillars of any social development project, I also contributed, as a cultural instructor and French monitor, to the promotion and popularization of Francophone and sub-Saharan African cultures within Francophone institutions in the city of Alexandria-Egypt. While working as an intern at UNESCO headquarters in Paris, specifically in the Organization’s Art Department, I was able to acquire skills in cultural management, administration as far as Culture is concern with diplomacy.

Based on the observation that, for a long time, African colonial memory and identity issues were considered the preserve of fictional creation, particularly cinema and literature, my current research aims to study francophone rap songs not only as a vehicle for ideological memory, but also as a space in which French-speaking rappers emphasize issues related to identity in their compositions. The goal of this work is to show that, through their sociocultural roots, rappers promote culture and highlight intercultural imagination, while making cultural diversity an asset to be taken into consideration in the project of building a world geared toward the peaceful coexistence of cultures in the era of globalization.
