What is the Romance Languages Students’ Association?

The Romance Languages Students’ Association (RLSA) is a vibrant new Student Association dedicated to celebrating and exploring the diverse languages and cultures within the Romance Languages field, including Spanish, French, Italian, and Portuguese. We aim to create a dynamic blend of academic enrichment and social engagement through a variety of events and activities.

What activities and initiatives can students participate in?

We are excited to host a range of social events offering something for everyone, from a Samba dance night to Romance languages film screenings, cultural cuisine, and thought-provoking discussion groups. These events will provide opportunities to practice language skills, make new friends with fellow Romance language learners, and deepen appreciation for Romance cultures.

Who can participate?

While our primary focus is on undergraduate students within the Faculty of Arts, particularly those studying Romance languages, we welcome any UBC student interested in these cultures and languages to join us.

How can students get involved?

Students can get involved with the Romance Languages Students’ Association in various ways! The most involved option is to join our Executive Team, where they can help plan events, run activities, and share their ideas and feedback.
