SPAN 201 & SPAN 202
Full-time graduate students in the Department of French, Hispanic & Italian Studies are invited to submit applications for a Graduate Teaching Assistantship in Spanish for Summer 2018 Term 1 and Term 2.
Qualifications:
Applicants must be registered as full-time UBC graduate students during the 2018-2019 academic year, and are expected to hold at least a B.A. degree (or equivalent) with specialization in the language to be taught.
Duties:
Under the direction of a faculty member, the Teaching Assistant will assist with the instruction of SPAN 201 and/or SPAN 202. Specific duties, which will be supervised, will include preparing and teaching the work in the assigned section; setting and marking students’ written and class work; being available for consultation at certain fixed office hours; attending specified training, attending course meetings, and assisting in the setting, invigilating and marking of course-wide examinations.
Hours & Compensation:
This is a GTA I or GTA II designated position, which is paid at the rate $31.92 or $30.71, respectively. This is an hourly position, with an expected average workload of 15-20 hours per week for the duration of the course.
