Dear all,
We are excited to announce the final program of our upcoming 8th Biennial Graduate Student Conference, which is to take place on Oct 25-26 at Buchanan Penthouse (parallel sessions at Buchanan B316). This year’s conference theme will be “On the Move: Narratives of Displacement, Travel and Mobilities”, and we are welcoming graduate students from around the world as well as many of our own department!
We invite you to discover the wide range of topics that will be discussed in the presentations. We are also thrilled to announce two special events: keynote speech “Translation, psychic suffering and the quest for asylum” given by Prof. Simon Harel of University of Montreal (Oct 26 at 11am); a Book Talk by Dr. Tim Cresswell of the University of Edinburgh, on his most recent work Maxwell Street: Writing and Thinking Place (Oct 25 at 3:45pm).
Please feel free to circulate this announcement, and feel free to contact us for more information at fhis.gsc@gmail.com.
We look forward to seeing you at the conference!
