The Department of French, Hispanic and Italian Studies (FHIS) is proud to announce that Dr. Kim Beauchesne, Associate Professor of Spanish, has been honoured with the prestigious Killam Award for Excellence in Mentoring. This award recognizes Dr. Beauchesne’s exceptional dedication to fostering the growth of graduate students.

“Dr. Kim Beauchesne is an Associate Professor of Spanish in the Department of French, Hispanic and Italian Studies. She specializes in Latin American colonial literature and postcolonial theory, with a particular emphasis on comparative colonialism. Dr. Beauchesne is recognized for her exemplary dedication and mentoring philosophy, offering a personalized approach to mentorship that adapts to each students’ unique needs, backgrounds and aspirations.
