The Italian Studies Program has been given the chance to present at this year’s Italian Day on the Drive—Vancouver’s most anticipated cultural street festival. Commercial Drive, home to historic Little Italy, comes alive in the style of Italy’s vibrant streets and piazzas, drawing hundreds of thousands of attendees of all ages and cultures.

June is Italian Heritage Month, a time to honour the history, culture, and contributions of Italian Canadians to Vancouver. Italian Day on the Drive is the most prominent celebration of the month.
Since 2010, Italian Day on The Drive has been shaping a new chapter of Italo-Canadian history, one of the city’s largest and most popular street festivals. Weaved with annual themes, the festival brings the community closer to the unique aspects of Italian culture, heritage, and the ‘la dolce vita’ lifestyle, with this year celebrating the 15 Year Anniversary together with the Mille Baci theme.
