UBC Giving Day: Support graduate students through the FHIS Department Fund

DATE
Thursday April 4, 2024

Affordability is one of the greatest challenges faced by our graduate students.

Support the research and professional growth of MA and PhD students in French and Hispanic Studies this UBC Giving Day on April 4th by contributing to the Annual Fund of the Department of French, Hispanic and Italian Studies (FHIS).

Your gift will open doors to unique research opportunities that might otherwise remain inaccessible to our graduate students by helping fund thesis preparation and student travel costs. Your gift will also fund student initiative and teaching awards to rightfully recognize the outstanding contributions of our graduate students, empowering them to be the next educational leaders in French and Hispanic Studies in Western Canada.

Every gift is more powerful when we make them together!
Merci, gracias, grazie, obrigado, thank you.

My doctoral research investigates the transformations of comics art within the 21st century and its emergence in new artistic environments. I will visit Madrid, the 'art capital' of Spain, and Barcelona, the nation’s 'city of comics' to inform my dissertation project. The Graduate Student Research Award will help offset the costs of travel related to this trip.

PhD Candidate, Hispanic Studies
