About

I graduated from Indiana State University in May of 2023 with a BA in Theater and Language Studies. While there, I had the chance to not only study French, but Spanish, German, and Japanese, as well. Learning many different languages has allowed me to study different cultures from around the world. Currently, I am studying French at the University of British Columbia, where I am in the first year of my graduate studies. In my undergraduate studies, I did some research on subtitle mistranslations, as well as gender-neutral pronouns in French. While I am interested in language evolution, I hope to continue my research on the mistranslations of subtitles.

Research

Interests

I have been interested in translation studies, particularly with audio-visual translations, for several years now. I also have studied French gender-neutral pronouns (language evolution) and have a fascination with dying languages. However, I hope to continue studying mistranslations and how our personal biases influence translations in personal and professional life.
