Accepting Nominations: FHIS Undergraduate Student Representatives 2025-26

The Department of French, Hispanic and Italian Studies (FHIS) is seeking 4 students to serve as Undergraduate Student Representatives who will have the opportunity to provide valuable input on departmental policies from the student’s perspective, including matters that affect students directly, such as curriculum changes. It is an excellent opportunity to strengthen your resume, expand your network, learn how departmental decisions are made, and make an impact.

One student from each of the following FHIS programs will be selected to serve as an Undergraduate Student Representative. It is also possible to have different student reps in Term 1 and Term 2.

• Major, Minor or Honours program in French Studies
• Major, Minor or Honours program in Romance Studies
• Major or Minor program in Spanish Studies
• Minor program in Italian Studies

Nomination Process

If you would like to nominate yourself, or if you know of another student registered in one of the above programs who would be ideal for this role, please fill out the nomination form by 11:59pm on Monday, September 15, 2025.

Time Commitment

Undergraduate Student Representatives are expected to participate in Department Meetings and the relevant Program Meetings (French, Romance Studies, Spanish or Italian, depending on their area of specialization). Meetings have been scheduled as follows in the 2025 Winter Session:

Undergraduate Student Representatives have voting rights at these meetings, except where they are specifically excluded by university regulations.
