Opportunities

Diversify your degree and develop a sense of community by getting involved in the many exciting opportunities at UBC French, Hispanic & Italian Studies.

Attend social, academic, and professional events organized by the FHIS Graduate Student Association and/or become a member of the organizing committee.

The FHIS Graduate Student Association consists of a group of MA and PhD students in both French and Hispanic Studies that strives to advocate for the needs and interests of fellow students at the department. We hope to foster a sense of community among FHIS graduate students by organizing social events throughout the academic year that promote wellbeing and an inclusive environment. We host monthly events that bring graduate students together to chat, have snacks, and take a break from their responsibilities. In addition to these social events, we facilitate the FHIS Graduate Students Symposium with the help of the Graduate Advisor and plan networking initiatives to support their professional and academic development.

Organizing committee roles: President, Vice President, Treasurer, Social and Academic Events coordinator, CUPE 2278 Representative, French Table Organizer.
