Enjoy love poetry from in the Romance languages. Share a favourite classic, perform your own original poem, or simply come to listen.
The Valentine’s Day Poetry Slam invites each and every student and faculty member connected to and interested in the Department of French, Hispanic and Italian Studies (FHIS) to read and share love poetry—from all centuries and all continents, written in any Romance language. This is also an invitation to all members of the FHIS community to read their own poetry, as long as it is connected to the broad theme of love.
Poetry can be read in English or in any Romance language.
If you wish to read poetry:
- Either send the poem(s) you’d like to read to Katharina Piechocki (katharina.piechocki@ubc.ca) by Monday, February 9
- Or just drop in with your poem in-hand at the event!
