Assessment in Language Contexts: Workshop and Poster Session

Three UBC language departments have come together to design and carry out an interactive workshop on Assessment in Language Contexts, as part of the Pedagogy Hub for Congress 2019 — Canada’s largest interdisciplinary conference.

This three-part workshop will open with an interactive poster session followed by a keynote address from Beverly Baker, and close out with group work focused on the specific aspects of assessment that were addressed in the talk. Beverly Baker is an Associate Professor at the Official Languages and Bilingualism Institute at the University of Ottawa, where she also serves as the Director of Language Assessment. Over her career, Beverly has given workshops to more than 1000 teachers on language assessment topics.
