Our department houses its own library where faculty and graduate students can find a quiet and private environment to study. Located on the 8th floor of Buchanan Tower, the FHIS Reading Room contains a collection of more than 6,000 volumes and periodicals that cover our main areas of expertise from French, Hispanic and Italian Studies. Four computers, a printer, and a scanner are available for students. The Reading Room has benefited from some important legacy donations during the last few years, including works by Jean Paulhan from the library of Fredric Grover who taught at UBC for many years. Access to the Reading Room is limited to graduate students and faculty. Over 30 lockers are available for graduate students.
