Introduction to Francophone Literature(s)

This course offers an introduction to cultures and literature of the francophone world. Emphasis on the postcolonial condition, aesthetics, identity politics (language, gender), universalism vs transnationalism, and so forth. We will examine fiction works and essay writing by contemporary authors from Africa and the Caribbean.
