Explore the cultural diversity of the Republic of Italy through this interactive online presentation as part of the FHIS Cultural Club.

“Cultural diversity” is a term used in North America to describe ethnic and religious groups. In Italy, cultural diversity has had a different meaning for centuries. Over 90% of the population is Italian-born, but each region of Italy has different cultural and ethnic roots. It’s the reason why we see such a varied mix of  foods, architecture, and festivals and the language “sounds” so different when travelling from one end of the country to the other.

Dr. Elena Zampieri will be giving a presentation on various stereotypes, images, foods, accents, colours, and pluralities of Italy.

The presentation will be in both English and Italian, so all are welcome!
